Boyer have been advising Taylor Wimpey on the Rowner Renewal project since 2010.

The Rowner estate in Gosport was built by the Ministry of Defence for navy personnel and their families in the 1960s. It was sold to private investors in the 1980s and subsequently suffered from a lack of maintenance. In the 1990s crime, anti-social behaviour and vandalism led to further decline.

In 2010 work on a £145 million project began to demolish the sub-standard housing.

The development comprises 620 new dwellings, including 256 affordable homes, a Neighbourhood Centre, play space, supermarket and parade of shops. The renewal project is being delivered by the Rowner Renewal Partnership; comprising Taylor Wimpey, Hampshire County Council, Gosport Borough Council, Homes England and Vivid Housing Association.

Boyer has prepared and led full and reserved matters planning applications on Phases 2, 3 and 4. Boyer has also prepared and managed multiple applications to amend various elements of the scheme, discharged planning conditions across all the phases and managed S106 matters.

The project is now nearing completion and Boyer are delighted to see the work they have completed across all four phases now being occupied by local residents.
