Digby Stuart College & Downshire House
Client: University of Roehampton
LPA: London Borough of Wandsworth
Boyer has been working with the University of Roehampton since 2012 on the update of its existing campus masterplan to guide development through to 2025, as well as related development projects for academic and student accommodation.
Roehampton University is the only campus university in London and there are a number of Grade I and II listed buildings on the site, part of which is on English Heritage’s Historic Parks and Gardens Register. It is also adjacent to the Grade II* Alton Estate, the design of which was strongly influenced by the principles of Le Corbusier.
Boyer obtained planning permission and listed building consent for the development of 210 student bedrooms in three new buildings in the grounds of the Grade II listed Downshire House which were completed for occupation in September 2015. More recently we have obtained planning permission for a new library, conference centre and 450 new student bedrooms at Digby Stuart college which are currently under construction.
