Boyer was instructed as Architects to prepare a masterplan and Reserved Matters application for 144 homes, pocket parks and infrastructure at Phase 1 Parcel I of Chilmington Green Garden Community in Ashford by Barratt David Wilson Homes in Kent.

The design proposal were informed by the site wide principles established in the approved Outline application Chilmington Green masterplan and follows the principles of the approved parameter plans. Taking the brief from the adopted Design Code, our proposals successfully embedded a strong and consistent concept that deviates from the Code, where necessary, but creates a sense of place and sequence of experiences. This is defined by a subtle transition from urban formal to suburban, to picturesque informal. This variation is reflected throughout our design and carried through block structure, street character, spatial enclosure defined through setbacks, boundary treatments, frontage variations, selection of appropriate house types, fenestration and material application.
