Boyer successfully negotiated outline planning permission and reserved matters approval for 28 new homes on a greenfield site in West Berkshire. Despite the site being allocated for development in the Housing Site Allocations DPD, these were complex applications as the site forms part of a wider allocation for 60 new homes, which the Council was seeking a single comprehensive masterplan and application for.
Boyer successfully overcame this issue by demonstrating to the Council that the development would not prejudice the future delivery of the remaining allocation.
Furthermore, we also successfully argued that forcing the site to form part of a single planning application would in fact jeopardise the delivery rates of housing at this site and the Council’s five year housing land supply.
Having resolved the principle of a separate application for this site, Boyer supported Crest through the detailed negotiations relating to the reserved matters for the development and spoke on behalf of Crest at Planning Committee.
